Job Description

Join HMSHost as an F&B Multi-Operations Manager at Newark International Airport (EWR) and lead a dynamic team to deliver exceptional dining experiences and drive operational success!

As an F&B Multi-Unit Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving operational success across multiple high-traffic restaurants within a designated terminal, concourse, or zone. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Operations, you’ll lead the charge in achieving operational excellence, meeting staffing and financial objectives, and ensuring that General Managers consistently uphold our company standards. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by shaping the success of multiple locations while fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple restaurants, ensuring opening and closing procedures are followed and standards for cleanliness, service, and operational efficiency are maintained. Monitor and improve unit performance through data analysis and regular check-ins.
  • Manage scheduling, staffing, and the training/development of restaurant teams. Provide consistent coaching, performance feedback, and employee engagement strategies to foster a positive work environment and high staff retention.
  • Review and analyze financial performance, including sales, labor costs, and operational data. Make decisions related to purchasing, repairs, and resource allocation. Work closely with the Director of Operations and other leadership to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Ensure units are stocked appropriately, and inventory levels are maintained. Address equipment issues promptly and implement measures to reduce waste and enhance cost control.
  • Uphold brand standards and ensure adherence to safety, health, and sanitation regulations. Provide leadership to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Hold assigned General Managers accountable for delivering results and fostering a positive work environment. Lead recognition programs and motivate staff to achieve both individual and team goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of multi-unit management experience in the food & beverage industry (QSR, Casual Dining, Full Service, etc.), with a proven track record of managing 3+ units at once. Candidates should have 8-10 years of total restaurant experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Must demonstrate strong team management, leadership development, and issue resolution skills. Ability to mentor and guide managers through operational challenges and team dynamics.
  • Solid experience in managing budgets, interpreting financial reports, and making cost-effective decisions to optimize operations. Familiarity with tools like MIV, Crunch Time, Kronos, and other management systems is a plus.
  • A deep understanding of the restaurant industry, including operational best practices, safety, compliance, and labor management. Knowledge of HMSHost policies, product standards, and operational processes is preferred.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to meet operational demands. The role may require travel within the assigned zone.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with staff at all levels and solve complex issues quickly and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field
  • Experience working in airport or high-traffic locations is a plus
  • Experience with union and non-union environments is highly preferred
