Job Description

NorthHill Technology Resources has an opportunity for an Oracle DBA to support a Federal Program in Chantilly, VA. This is a direct-hire role with our client, a cutting-edge Federal Integrator in the IC space. Due to the nature of the work, a current TS/SCI Clearance and CI Polygraph is required.

Oracle Database Administrator Responsibilities
• Define, create, maintain, backup, and secure the organization’s databases for multiple systems.
• Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates, and installs database management systems, including database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata, repository creation, and configuration management.
• Uses data mapping, mining, and transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases.
• Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements.
• Evaluate, size, and select technology components for database management systems and application databases, such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities.
• Writes and tunes SQL queries for performance and scalability. Implements comprehensive backup and database replication solutions. Ensures security best practices are followed and compliance with the latest STIGS.
• Set up and manage user and system accounts. Debugs and troubleshoots programs that are malfunctioning or returning/storing incorrect data.

• Deploy, Create and Maintain MariaDB 10.4 Database
• Perform the Oracle Quarterly Patching for the following components:
Database 19.x 
Oracle Clusterware
Oracle Enterprise Manager
Oracle Java
• Apply Bundled Patch to Oracle Exadata X5-8 thru X7-8
• Monitor Targets with Oracle Enterprise Manager
• Work with Netback which is our enterpriser backup solution
• Familiarity with ZFS Storage which is what Exadata Uses
• Some experience bringing software and patches into the cleared space, as there is no internet connectivity
• Experience Patching and Maintaining Oracle Database Appliance
• Experience Oracle Internet Directory - OID

Education/Experience
B.S./B.A. in Aerospace Engineering, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math and 5 years relevant work experience.  8 years relevant experience can be used in lieu of a degree.
