ZARA IS LOOKING FOR A TEMPORARY (UP TO 6 MONTHS) PAYROLL SPECIALIST BASED IN NEW YORK.

TEMPORARY PAYROLL SPECIALIST (UP TO 6 MONTHS)

Position based in our NYC Corporate Office

PURPOSE:

To assist in payroll processes, ensure compliance with regulations, and support the financial and operational objectives of the organization.

RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Assist in processing payroll to ensure employee wages, deductions, and taxes are calculated accurately and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Support timely payroll processing to prevent delays or errors that could impact employee compensation and company operations.
  • Handle routine payroll tasks and assist in resolving basic payroll-related inquiries.
  • Ensure changes to employee data (such as new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations) are reflected in payroll accurately and promptly.
  • Generate standard reports for Payroll Manager, HR, or Finance as needed.
  • Assist in identifying and reporting recurring issues, contributing to training and procedural solutions.
  • Maintain payroll-related activities, including time off accruals and holiday pay.
  • Review payroll transactions for accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding payroll policies and procedures in a timely manner.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll records and protect employee privacy.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the implementation of best practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

PROFILE:

  • Previous experience in high volume payroll (min. 2 years)
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems such as ADP Vantage, Vantage Time,
  • Understanding of payroll regulations and processing laws, taxes at Federal, State and local levels: Multi-state experience preferred.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to handle competing priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
  • Demonstrated reliability, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar designation is a plus.
  • Bilingual (Spanish is a plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.

Annual compensation range: $59,000 - $95,000
