Job Title: Phlebotomist

Location: 1823 College Avenue, Manhattan, KS

Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract (3 months) with potential for extension or permanent conversion

Work Schedule: Night Shift (8:30 PM - 7:00 AM, 4 days a week, rotating weekends)

Job Overview:

Pride Health is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at our hospital location in Manhattan, KS. This is a night shift role with a high potential for permanent placement at the end of the contract. The ideal candidate will have experience performing venipunctures, processing specimens, and working in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform blood draws on patients in various hospital departments.
• Assist with morning rounds, collecting samples from 15-25 patients.
• Prepare blood culture kits and collect blood cultures.
• Receive, process, and centrifuge specimens .
• Enter orders into the hospital system accurately.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
• Maintain compliance with hospital and Laboratory's policies, including proper documentation and labeling of specimens.

Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: Minimum two years of phlebotomy experience (hospital experience preferred but not required).

Skills:

• Proficiency in venipuncture techniques, including handling hard sticks and using butterfly needles.
• Experience collecting urine and thyroid samples.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills for order entry.
• Ability to work independently in a hospital setting.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for most of the shift.

Vaccination Requirements:

• Flu vaccine (required per hospital policy)
• TB and Hepatitis B (Hep B can be declined)
