Job Description

Position Title: Project Manager 1

Location: Pomona, CA

Schedule: Monday-Friday 6AM-4PM

Travel: 50% Nationwide

About the Role:

A Project Manager 1 is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects on-site, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves coordinating various aspects of the construction process, from planning through to project completion, while managing resources, stakeholders, and contractors.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction
  • Experience in fast paced remodel, tenant-improvement, multi-site roll out
  • Strong background with Big-Box Retail, QSR/Fast Casual Restaurants
  • Ability to manage multiple sites and crews/teams at any given time
  • Good understanding of MEP Building Systems.
  • Familiarity with Project Management software

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Project Manager 1 include but are not limited to:

Project Planning: Define project objectives, develop schedules, set performance requirements, and select project participants to ensure successful project execution.

Resource Coordination: Optimize the utilization of labor, materials, and equipment, ensuring their procurement on the most cost-effective terms.

Operational Implementation: Oversee the implementation of various operations through effective coordination and management.

Communication and Conflict Resolution: Develop robust communication strategies and mechanisms to prevent and resolve conflicts among project participants.

Multi-Site Management: Manage multi-site construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring seamless integration and execution.

Planning and Budgeting: Play a pivotal role in project planning, budgeting, and resource identification to align with project goals and requirements.

Team Development: Form project teams, establish objectives and goals for each team, and assign individual responsibilities to drive project success.

Project Accounting: Manage project accounting functions, including budget management, expense tracking, and risk mitigation.

Schedule Adherence: Ensure construction activities adhere to the predetermined schedule, adjusting as necessary to accommodate changes.

Work Plan Development: Create and revise project work plans to address evolving project needs and requirements.

Contractor Coordination: Effectively communicate with contractors responsible for various project phases, ensuring timely and successful completion.

Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate efforts among all parties involved, including architects, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and company labor resources.

Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor construction progress and conduct status meetings with all sub-teams to review performance and address issues.

Compliance Management: Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality standards, and safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Document Management: Ensure all project documentation is complete and up to date, supporting effective project management and compliance.

Dispute and Claim Identification: Identify potential sources of disputes and claims in project design and construction and address them proactively.

Client Liaison: Serve as a key liaison with clients, reviewing deliverables prepared by the team before final submission to ensure client satisfaction.
