Job Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced QA Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual and automated testing of web applications and APIs, with the ability to design comprehensive test cases, execute SQL queries, and manage testing activities through modern tools and platforms. This role requires close collaboration with development, product, and operations teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manual Testing:

• Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing for web applications and web APIs.
• Validate UI/UX consistency, backend functionality, and API responses using appropriate tools.
• Identify, document, and track defects using Jira or similar tools.

2. Test Case Design & Documentation:

• Design, document, and maintain detailed test cases, test scripts, and test plans.
• Ensure test coverage for all user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Manage and update test cases using TestRail or similar test management platforms.

3. Database Testing:

• Execute SQL queries on databases like SQL Server or MySQL to validate backend data.
• Verify data integrity and perform database validation in complex workflows.

4. Test Automation:

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Cypress , Selenium , or equivalent frameworks.
• Assist with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
• Ensure reusability and scalability of automation scripts.

5. Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with developers, IT, and product teams to understand requirements and ensure proper test coverage.
• Actively participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Provide detailed and timely reports on test execution and defect status.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance with a focus on web applications and APIs.
• Strong experience in manual testing and writing detailed test cases.
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data validation in SQL Server or MySQL .
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Cypress or Selenium .
• Familiarity with TestRail , Jira , and other test and defect management tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins , GitLab CI , or Azure DevOps .
• Knowledge of REST API testing tools like Postman or Swagger .
• Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner .
• Experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Scripting knowledge in JavaScript , Perl, Python , or Java for test automation.
