Our client, a well-established contract manufacturer specializing in personal care products in Illinois, is seeking a Third Shift Quality Control Chemist to join their innovative team. You'll be working with an impressive product portfolio that includes:

• Premium hair care products including shampoos, conditioners, and styling treatments
• Advanced skin care formulations focusing on cleansers, moisturizers, and treatments
• Over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products requiring strict quality control protocols

With over a decade of excellence in liquid fill manufacturing and 200+ employees, they've established themselves as a trusted partner for premium personal care brands. Their comprehensive capabilities in hair care, skin care, and OTC products have driven consistent growth since their founding in 2010, making them a preferred manufacturer for both established brands and innovative startups.

Schedule Details ⏰

• Friday through Sunday
• 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
• Premium weekend shift differential
• Compressed schedule (3 days worked, 4 days off)
• Paid for 40 hours while working 36
• Extended consecutive days off

Essential Responsibilities 📋

• Execute quality control testing throughout the manufacturing process across hair care, skin care, and OTC product lines
• Perform precise batch adjustments based on analytical results
• Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment
• Monitor product specifications and ensure compliance with quality standards
• Document test results and maintain detailed records
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Follow SOPs and documentation requirements
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues

Required Qualifications ✨

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related scientific field
• 1-3 years of industry experience in personal care, OTC products, or related fields
• Demonstrated expertise with laboratory equipment:
• pH meters
• Viscometers
• Total solids testing equipment
• Centrifuges
• Conductivity meters
• Strong mathematical skills for batch calculations and adjustments
• Manufacturing quality control experience
• Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Experience with hair care, skin care, or OTC formulations is highly desirable
• Comfort with overnight and weekend hours
