CONTRACT Position: 6+ Months

Location: Sunnyvale, CA or San Diego, CA (partial remote flexibility - 3 days per week onsite Tues-Thurs)

The RFIC Layout Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing the physical layout of RF integrated circuits (ICs) for high-performance wireless communication systems. This role involves translating circuit designs into optimized layouts while ensuring compliance with manufacturing processes, performance specifications, and electrical constraints.

Job Description:

• RFIC Layout.
• Must have proficiency in Cadence Virtuoso.
• FinFet (lower the better) - ideally 7nm or lower.
• ADC/DAC/PLL, etc.
• Bluetooth experience is a plus.
• Create, modify, and verify the layout of RFICs, ensuring adherence to electrical and performance specifications such as signal integrity, noise performance, power consumption, and parasitic effects.
• Work closely with RF circuit designers, physical design engineers, and simulation teams to ensure seamless integration of the layout with the RF circuit design.
• Ensure the layout meets all process design rules (DRC), electrical design rules (ERC), and manufacturing constraints (LVS, DFM, etc.).
• Optimize layout for performance (such as minimizing parasitics), yield, power, area, and signal integrity.
• Perform thorough verification of layouts using industry-standard tools for DRC (Design Rule Check), LVS (Layout vs. Schematic), and ERC (Electrical Rule Check).
• Assist with debugging layout-related issues in the prototype phase, collaborating with fabrication teams to resolve any manufacturing challenges.
