Sr. Computer Vision Software Engineer - Autonomous Vehicle Startup

Location: Remote (must be available from 10 am to 4 pm Pacific Time)

Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

The company is led by industry veterans with proven success in launching and building highly successful startups. The company has raised Series A funding from top investors, and has reached profitability. It has customers in a variety of industries, and its top customers are in the US defense sector.

The company's technology involves 3D perception and reconstruction, depth sensing, computer vision, and autonomous vehicles (as well as robots). The 3D vision technology they have built is the first of its kind and is superior to existing alternatives used by established companies.

The company will pay up to $200k in salary, plus equity which could be lucrative.

Job Responsibilities:

- Using a combination of C++ (for production grade code) and Python (for research).

- Contributing to the design and development of various core technologies and products involving computer vision, such as real-time perception, 3D reconstruction, visual-inertial odometry, and more.

- Contributing to the development of state-of-the-art techniques and algorithms for robotic perception.

- Writing production code in C++ for a variety of platforms, including GPUs.

Qualifications:

- At least 2 years (the more the better) of professional experience as a computer vision engineer using classical methods.

- Solid understanding of linear algebra and classical computer vision algorithms.

- Understanding of highly parallel programming frameworks such as CUDA, OpenCL, or Metal.

- Proficient with C++, and willing/able to primarily use it.

Nice to have:

- Advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

- Strong in C++.

- Deep learning, object detection, 3d scene understanding, semantic segmentation, SLAM.
