Video Production/Broadcast Manager (Program Consultant 3)

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) is currently seeking applicants to fill the Program Consultant 3 position in the Communications Unit at the Georgia Department of Labor Headquarters in downtown Atlanta, GA.

Position Overview

The Program Consultant 3 will work across departments to produce high quality video content for distribution via various channels, including GDOL internal training videos, social media, weekly video addresses from the Commissioner etc. The ideal candidate will serve as producer, scriptwriter, camera operator, teleprompter operator, lighting/sound technician, and post-production editor for all agency- specific productions.

This position may include travel and selectee must have reliable transportation.

Essential Function and Responsibilities:

• Media Production: Lead the creation of compelling visual storytelling, including impactful public service announcements, dynamic weekly updates for the Commissioner, comprehensive training videos, and engaging monthly observance videos, supporting the Commissioner’s Office and various agency departments.

• Content Collaboration: Collaborate with the communications team to storyboard content and develop micro-content for social media and other internal videos.

• Technical Execution: Oversee the preparation and technical execution of audio/visual services for GDOL training sessions and monthly events.

• Equipment Management: Manage and maintain all equipment and GDOL production spaces, including inventory.

• Comprehensive Video Services: Oversee every phase of video production, from initial concept through post-production.

• Software Expertise: Demonstrate high proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Adobe Lightroom, Canva, and Adobe Audition.

• Podcast Production: Direct the creation and editing of high-quality podcasts using Adobe Audition, ensuring professional sound design and seamless integration with video content.

• Event Preparation: Set up and position audio equipment, podiums, and microphones for optimal performance.

• Innovative Mindset: Research and implement cutting-edge ideas to drive continuous modernization of all GDOL productions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited college or university in broadcast journalism, communications, video production, or a related field.

• Branding & Marketing: Understanding of branding and marketing standards and how they relate to video production.

• Technical Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of video editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe Audition.

• Photography Skills: Photography experience, including proper lighting techniques, is required.

• Attention to Detail: Extreme attention to detail.

• Technical Skills: Proficient in using green screens and teleprompters.

• Team Collaboration: Comfortable working across departmental teams.

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience OR completion of an apprenticeship/internship that sufficiently supplied experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position OR any other combination of education and professional experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job.
